For the second blog of the week, I have chosen a dress with an over the shoulder bag and wedges. I put together this outfit not only for the warm weather the next few days but also because these clothes are for a cause. In particular, the wedges that are pictured are Toms which is a fairly well-known brand that gives back. For every pair of shoes they sell, they donate a pair to a child in need. The company has given over 75 million pairs of shoes to children in over 70 countries. Since the company first opened, they have expanded to helping communities in other ways besides giving shoes. They have started a water project, helped to improve eye sight, and promoted safe birth in certain communities.
In addition to the type of shoes you wear, it is also important to consider what you are wearing underneath those shoes. I have recently become informed about a sock brand called Bombas. This company sells all types of socks in a variety of colors but the best part about them is that for every pair they sell, they donate a pair to someone who is homeless. Socks are the number one most requested clothing item at homeless shelters and is what started this company. So far the company has donated over 8 million pairs of socks. They also find other ways to stay involved through volunteering at shelters and other organizations that help the homeless.
